A shell of mass 0.020 kg is fired by a gun of mass 100 kg. If the muzzle speed of the shell is `80 m s^(-1)` , what is the recoil speed of the gun ?

Recoil speed `m_(2) =100 kg`
By law conservation of linear momentum
`=0 m_(1) v_(1) + m_(2) v_(2)`
`=-0 .016 m//s`
Negative sign indicates that velocity of riffle is in opposite direction of bullet
