Quarks are thought to be confined with in a proton or neutron by forces which grow stronger if one tries to pull them apart.Though bound fractional charges mat exist in nature independent charges are stoll integral multiple of e.
(b)Basic realtions `eV=(1)/(2)mv^(2)` and eE=ma also `(1)/(2)mv^(2)=BeV`
For electric and magnetic field respectively this shows that dynamics of electron is determined not by e and m separately but it is driven by combination `(e)/(m)` .
(c )At low pressure ,ions have a chance to reach their respective electrodes and constitute current. At ordinary pressure ions have not chance to do so because of collisions with gawsw moleculewsw andw recombination.
(d) Work function only indicates the minimum energy required for the electron in the highest level of conduction band to get out of the metals .Not all electrons in the metal belong to this level.
They occupy a continuous band of levels consequently for the same incident radiation ,electron knocked off from different level is come out with different energies.
(e)The absolute value of energy (E) not momentum (p) of any particle is arbitrary to within an additive constant .Hence while `lambda` of a matter wave of an electron have no direct physical meaningn. The phase speed `vlambda` has no physical significance,
For group speed ,`v_(p)=v_(lambda)=(omega)/(k)`
where `omega=2piv`
`therefore (v)/(1)=(omega)/(k) therefore (hv)/((h)/(lambda))=(omega)/(k)`
`implies`Differentiating,
`therefore (d(hv))/(d((h)/(lambda)))=(domega)/(dk)` and `lambda=(h)/(p).hv=E`
`therefore (dE)/(dp)=(domega)/(dk)`
`(d)/(dp)((p^(2))/(2m))=(domega)/(dk)[because =(p^(2))/(2m)]`
`therefore (2p)/(2m)=(domega)/(dk)`
`therefore (p)/(m)=(domega)/(dk)`
`therefore (p)/(m)`=speed of particle
