Write the symbol, truth table, function and Boolean equation for OR gate.

The symbolic figure of OR gate is shown in figure (a).

It has two or more input and one output.
Function: Whenever input A or input B or both input are 1 then we get output 1. In short, out is 1 when there is only 1 input or all input 1.
Boolean equation for OR gate is `Y=A+B`, here the .+. sign does not indicate the sign of addition but it indicates the OR operator. The above equation is read as : "Y is equal to A or B".
Truth table of OR gate is shown in table (b).

This gate is used for performing mathematical functions as well as for modifying the pulse waveform.
