Write the truth table for a NAND gate connected as given in figure.

Hence identify the exact logic operation carried out by this circuit.

Both the inputs of the NAND gate are connected so the truth table can be obtained as follows:

From the truth table it can be said that `Y=barA`
so the given circuit acts as NOT gate.
From Boolean equation,
`Y=bar(A*A)=barA+barA=barA`
