Is it possible for a body to have inertia but no weight?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Yes, a body can have inertia (i.e., mass) but no weight, Everybody always have inertia (i.e., mass) but its weight `(mg)` can be zero, when it is taken at the centre of the earth or during free fail under gravity.
eg., In the tunnel through the centre of the earth, the object moves only due to inertia at the centre while its weight becomes zero.

The relative density of the material of body is the ratio of it's weight in air and to the apparent loss of it's weight in water. By using a spring balance. The weight of body measured in air is (5.00+0.05) N. The weight of the body measured in water is found to be (4.00 pm 0.05) N. Then the maximum possible percentage error in relative density is
