Explain the events in a normal woman during her menstrual cycle on the following days :
(a) Pituitary hormone levels from 8 to 12 days.
(b) Uterine events from 13 to 15 days.
(c) Ovarian events from 16 to 23 days.

(a) Pituitary hormone levels from 8 to 12 days. It is the follicular‘phase where FSH stimulates the ovarian f licles to secretes estrogen, which in turn stimulates the prolifemtim of the endometrium of the uterine wall. The endometrial lining begins to thicken.
(b) The uterine events between day 13 and 15 are governed by the high LH and FSH levels. The endometrium is intact under the effect of these hormones and also prepares itself forimpending pregnancy if it occurs.
(c) Ovarian events frdm 16 to 23 days :
Secretion of progesterone maintains the endometrium which is necessary for implantation of fertilized ovum and other events of pregnancy.
