Eco RI is a restriction end nuclease.It functions by inspecting the length of a DNA sequence.Once it finds its finds its specific recognition sequence, it binds to the DNA and cut the two strands of the DNA helix at specific points in their sugar-phosphate backbone. Eco RI recognizes a palindromic nucleotide sequence in the DNA.
