How does Ampere-Maxwell law explain the flow the of current through a capacitor when it is being charged by a battery? Write the expression for the displacement current in terms of the rate of change of electric flux.

Text Solution

Using concept displacement current.
According the Ampere -Maxwell Law, the line integral of magnetic field over a closed loop is `mu_(o)` times the sum of conduction urrent and displacement current. Mag. Flux exists between two plates of capacitor which was assumed by Ampere.
`phi vec(B). vec(dl) = mu_(o) (I_(C ) + I_(D))`
Expression for Displacement Current,
`I_(D) = mu_(o) (dphi_(e))/(dt)`
