What is line of sight communication? Why is it not possible to use sky waves for transmission of T.V. signals? Upto what distance can a signal be transmitted using an antenna of height `h`?

Text Solution

(i) Communication in which there is direct and unobstructed path between transmetting device and a receiving device. For example microwave are propagated in this manner and repeater can be utilised to extent their range. Example : FM radio, microwaves.
(ii) Transmission of TV signal is not possible through sky wave propagation as ionosphere transmitting and receiving antene should be ,
