Write the source and the effect on the human body of the following drugs
(i) Morphine
(ii) Cocaine
(iii) Marijuana

Morphin- Morphine is the active principle of oplum. It is most valuable analgesic. It causes addiction. It is obtained from papaver somniferum.
(ii) Cocaine-Cocaine is extracted from the dried leaves andyoung twigs of the South American shrub named Erythroxylon coca. Cocaine is a CNS stimulant. It increases mental alertness and physical strength. It gives a feeling of well being and delays fatigue. It causes lack of sleep and loss of appetite, it
(iii) Marijuana-Marijuana is obtained from the direct inflorescence and top leaves of female plant, Cannabis sativa.
Marijuana interferes with short-term memory, impairs thoughts and reasoning, heightens sensory perception, changes the perception of time and produces mild euphoria, relaxation and relief from- anxiety. Marijuana also lowers the levels of sex hormones, inteference with the menstrual cycle, and suppresses the immune system. Marijuana may cause psychosis.
