`O_(2)` is used for formation of ATP in aerobic respiration. It is a strong electronegative element and final acceptor. It intakes proton in ETS medium and forms water. It obtains energy form ETS. (absorbs)
`O_(2)` enters last in respiratory pathway. Its presence is necessary. In aerobic respiration . It removes hydrogen and pushes the process forward . This way final hydrogen acts as a hydrogen acceptor.
This way energy is produced in oxidative phosphorylation which can be done by using oxidation reduction energy.
