Respiratory pathway is believed to be a catabolic pathway. However, nature of TCA cycle is amphibolic . Explain.

Explanation

In living organisms energy is formed during respiration which is built in the form of ATP at the end of break down of substances like glucose and fats.
The begining of this process is done in cytoplasm with glycolysis . In which Pyruvic acid is formed that is converted into acetyl CoA later. Which enters in stoma of mitochondria. So TCA cycle keeps going.
This cycle is called amphibolic pathway because many inter mediate substances are made which are useful for other processes. eg. coenzymes, vitamins, Hormones, More over fatty acid. Amino acid etc.
Fatty acid steroides, carotionides, Turpenis and Aromatic materials are made from acetyl CoA.
alpha` - ketoglutarate and oxalo acetate, amino acid are useful materials for glutamate and aspartate, Moreover from pyrimidines and alkaloid succinile, cytochrome and chlorophyll aremade.
So in this cycle break down and formation. both the processes occur in sequence. So it is called amphibolic pathway.
