What roles do enzymes play in detergents that we use for washing clothes? Are these enzymes produced from some unique microorganisms ?

Microbes are also used for production of enzymes. Lipases are used in detergent formulations and are helpful in removing oily stains from the laundry. Lipases are produced by Candida lipolytica (fungus) and Geotrichum candidum.
