Formulate the following problems as a pair of equations and hence find their solutions: Roohi travels 300 km to her home partly by train and partly by bus. She takes 4 hours if she travels 60 km by train and the remaining by bus. If she travels 100 km by train and the remaining by bus, she takes 10 minutes longer. Find the speed of the train and the bus separately.

Out of a distance of 360 km, if 240 km is covered by bus and rest by train, it takes 8 hours to complete the journey. However, if 120 km is travelled by the bus and rest by train, it takes one hour less. What is the speed of the bus and the train ?

A bus starting from rest moves with a uniform acceleration of 0.1 ms ^(-2) for 2 minutes. Find (a) the speed acquiresd (b) the distance travelled.

Distance between Kota and Jaipur is 240 km. Two persons A and B both start simultaneously from Kota to Kota to Jaipur. A travels half distance with 40 km/hr and remaining half distance with 60 km/hr. B travels with 40 km/hr for half time of journey and half time withy 60 km/hr. Find out (i) Average speed of A and B (ii) When and Who will reach the Jaipur first

A driver takes 0.20 s to apply the brakes after he sees a need for it. This is called the reaction time of the driver. If he ils driving a car at a speed of 54 km/h and the brakes cause a deceleration of 6.0 m/s^2 , find the distance travelled by the car after he sees the need to put the brakes on.

Represent the following situations in the form of quadratic eqautions : (1) The area of a rectangular plot is 528 m^(2) . The length of the plot (in metres) is one more than twice its breadth. We need to find the length and breadth of the plot. (2) The product of two consecutive positive integers is 306. We need to find the integers. (3) Rohan's mother is 26 years older than him. The product of their ages (in years) 3 years from now will be 360. We would like to find Rohan's present age. (4) A train travels a distance of 480 km at a uniform speed. If the speed had been 8km/h less, it would have taken 3 hours more to cover the same distance. We need to find the speed of the train.

Two motor cars start from A simultaneously & reach B after 2 hour. The first car travelled half the distance at a speed of v_(1)=30 km hr^(-1) & the other half at a speed of v_(2)=60 km hr^(-1) . The second car covered the entire with a constant acceleration. At what instant of time, were the speeds of both the vehicles same? Will one of them overtake the other enroute?
