Here, resistors with resistances `R_1 and R_2` are in parallel.
`:. R. =(R_1 R_2)/(R_1 + R_2) =(2 xx2)/(2 +2) = 1 Omega`
Also, resistors with resistances `R_3 and R_4` are in parallel.
`:. R.. =(R_3R_4)/(R_3 + R_4) = (2 xx 2)/(2 +2) =1 Omega`
The equivalent resistance of the resulting series combination will be
`R = R. + R..`
