Give chemical tests to distinguish between the following pairs of compounds :
(i) Benzyl chloride and chlorobenzene
(ii) Chloroform and carbon tetrachloride.

(i) On adding NaOH and `AgNO_(3)` to both compounds benzyl chlroide form white ppt. but chlorobenzene does not form it.
(ii) On heating chloroform and carban tetrachloride with aniline and ethanolic potassium hydroxide separtely. `CHCl_(3)` forms pungent smelling isocyanide but `CCl_(4)` does not form this compound.
