i.Body of Cnidarians is cylindrical or umbrella-like. If cylindrical, they are called as polyps and if umbrella-like they are called as medusae.
ii. Most of these animals are marine and only a few of them are fresh-water dwellers.
iii. They are radially symmetrical and diploblastic.
iv.Tentacles present around the mouth of Cnidarians bear enidoblasts. Tentacles are useful to capture the prey, whereas cnidoblasts inject the toxin in the body of the prey. Cnidoblasts are also useful for protection. Examples of Cnidarians are Hydra, Adamsia, Physalia, Aurelia, corals, etc.
