Explanation

i. Gene therapy is used to treat genetic disorders using biotechnology.
ii. In gene therapy, the affected somatic cells are genetically modified (i.e. abnormal gene is replaced by normal gene) to treat the disease.
iii. For e.g. Gene therapy has made it possible to treat genetic disorders like phenylketonuria (PKT).
