ii. These chemicals have been found to enter the food-web and water sources and cause harmful effects on humans and the environment.
iii. Due to the increasing problems of soil fertility and pest infestation, an alternative solution is required to sustain agricultural yields.
iv. Hence. farmers are opting for organic farming, i.e. the use of local, sturdy varieties with a complete ban on chemical use in order to maintain the natural balance of the ecosystem .
