Is it reasonable to expect the coefficient of friction to exceed unity ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For normal plane surfaces the coefficient of friction is less than unity But, when the surface are so irregular that sharp minute projections and cavities exist in the surfaces, the coefficient of friction may be greater than one
