`CO_(2)` gas is not produced when the following is storngly heated

A

`CaCO_(3)`

B

`Ca(HCO_(3))_(2)`

C

`K_(2)CO_(3)`

D

`MgCI_(2)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

Generally thermal stability of carbonaets increases from `BeCO_(3)` to `BaCO_(3)`. So `K_(2)CO_(3)` does not give `CO_(2)` on decomposition. All bicarbonates can decompose and give `CO_(2)`.
