In figure assume that there is nagligible friction between the blocks and table. Compute the tension in the cord connecting `m_2` and the pulley and acceleration of `m_2`if `m_1 = 300 g`, `m_2 = 200 g` and `F = 0.40N`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`T = m_(1) (2a) = (0.3) (2a) = 0.6a`
`F - 2T = m_(2)a`
`2T = 0.4 - 0.2a`
On solving these two equations, we get
`a = (2)/(7) m//s^(2)`

and `2T = (12)/(35) N`
