Speed of a transverse wave on a string
`v=sqrt(T/mu)` or `v prop 1/(sqrt (mu))`
Now, `mu_2 gt mu_1`
` :. v_2 ltv_1`
i.e. medium 2 is denser and medium 1 is rarer.
