900 N

B

200 N

C

The correct Answer is:
C

(c ) Friction force between block A and block B and between bock B and surface will oppose the F
` therefore F=F_(AB)+F_(BS)`
`=mu_(AB) m_(A)g+ mu _(BS) (m_(A)+m_(B))g`
`=0.2xx100xx10+0.3(100+200)10`
`=200+900=1100N`
This is the required minimum force to move the block B.

In the show arrangement mass of A=1 kg, mass of B= 2kg. Coefficient of friction between A and B =0.2 There is no friction between B and ground. The frictional force exerted by A on B equals.

Two blocks A and B having masses 100 kg and 200 kg are placed as shown in the figure. The block A is connected to a wall with a light inextensible string. The coefficient of friction between the blocks is 0.3 and that between the block B and the floor is 0.03. Then the minimum force required to move the block B will be (take g=10m//s^(2) )

Block A of mass 35kg is resting on a frictionless floor. Another block B of mass 7kg is resting on it as shown in the figure. The coefficient of friction between the blocks is 0.5 while kinetic friction is 0.4. (g = 10ms^(-2)) The minimum value of force to cause block B to move with respect to block Ais :
