Peptization is defined as the process of converting a freshly prepared precipitate into colloidal sol by shaking it with dispersion medium in the presence of a small amount of electrolyte.
Example : Freshly precipitate silver iodide is converted into colloidal solution of silver iodide with small amount of silver nitrate or potassium iodide solution.
