Population growth is a measure of change in the number of individuals in a habitat in a given period. The factors responsible for fluctuation in population density are:-
1. Natality (B):- Number of births during a given period of time in the population that are added to the initial density.
2. Immigration (I):- Number of individuals of the same species that have come into habitat from else where during the given period.
3. Mortality [D]:-Number of deaths in a population during a given period that are removed from the initial density.
4. Emigration [E]:- Number of individuals of the same species that have left the a habitat and gone else where during the given period. Natality and immigration contribute to an increase in population density.
Mortality and emigration contribute to decrease in population density.
