An organic compound A (C_2H_3N) is used as a solvent of choice for many organic reactions because it is not reactive in mild acidic and basic conditions. Compound A on treatment with Ni/ H_2 fo rms B. When B is treated with nitrous acid at 273K, ethanol is obtained. When B is warmed with chloroform and NaOH, a foul smelling compound C is formed. Identify A to C along with their structures and given reactions.

An organic compound (A) of molecular formula C_7H_7NO , on treatment with P_2O_5 produces (B). Reaction of both (A) and (B) with LiAlH_4 gives (C ). Acid hydrolysis of (A) and (B) affords benzoic acid. Identify A, B and C. Write the name and structure of the monomer of natural rubber.

An organic compound A(C_2H_6O) reacts with sodium to form compound B and hydrogen gas. When heated with conc. H_2SO_4 at 413 K, A produces C(C_4H_(10)O) . C on reaction with conc. HI at 373 K forms D. C is also obtained when B is heated with D. Identify A, B, C and D and write chemical equations for the formation of B from A and the formation of C from B and D.

Define peptide bond with an example.

An organic compound (A) of molecular formula C_7H_7NO , on treatment with P_2O_5 produces (B). Reaction of both (A) and (B) with LiAlH_4 gives (C ). Acid hydrolysis of (A) and (B) affords benzoic acid. Identify A, B and C. convert: Glucose → Glucosazone

A compound (A) (C_7H_4N) on hydrolysis with strong aqueous acid gives another compound (B) on treatment with ammonia gives a salt which on heating gives (C). The compound (C) undergoes Hofmann's bromamide reaction to yield aniline. Identify A, B, C and write chemcial reactions involved.

A and B are functional isomers of compound C_(3)H_(6)O . On heating with NaOH and I_(2) isomer A froms yellow percipitate of iodoform whereas isomer B does not form any precipitate. Write the formulae of A and B.
