The cross which is carried out to determine the expected genotype of `F_1` hybrids is known as testcross. It is carried out between hybrid and homozygous recessive parent.
(a) Tall (TT) X Dwarf (tt)
If only one type of phenotype is found in `F_1` offspring, the `F_1` hybrid is homozygous.
(b) Tall (Tt) X Dwarf (tt)

If both types of phenotypes are obtained in equal proportion, the hybrid is heterozygous.
