If a father and son are both defective in red green colour vision, is it likely that the son inherited the trait from his father? Comment

Text Solution

No, it means mother is a carrier for colour blindness. Her one X-chromosome has normal gene and other X-chromosome is with gene for colour blindness. Son receives his X-chromosome from mother and not from father. It means the colourblind son has received X-chromosome with colourblind gene from carrier mother.
