Migration involves both immigration and emigration. Immigration adds new gene complements to the population.s gene pool and emigration removes gene complements from the gene pool. Thus, migration may add (due to immigration) or remove (due to emigration) those alleles which are being selected or favoured by nature enhancing the effect of selection.
