In angiosperm at the time of fertilisation, following fusions of nuclei occur: (a) Fusion of male and female gametic nuclei, (b) Fusion of two polar nuclei and (c) Fusion of second male gametic nucleus with diploid polar nucleus-(i) Because of three fusion of nuclei, the process is called triple fusion. (ii) Because two male gametic nuclei fuse separately, there is double fertilisation.
