Explain the evolution of long neck of giraffe according to Charles Darwin.

Darwinian Theory of Evolution explains that evolution is the result of natural selection and natural selection is based on the inherited characters of organisms. Adaptive ability of organisms is the one which helps organisms in evolution through natural selection. Two varieties initially were there short necked and long necked giraffe. Giraffe.s long neck is the result of their adaptation to their nature since the ground vegetation disappeared and is replaced by high trees. The elongated necks are the outcome of their attempt to feed leaves on tall trees. Long neck could feed easily and they survived whereas short necked could not feed easily and they perished. This character passed on from generation to generation.
