Give a chemical test to distinguish between the following pairs of chemicals:
Sodium chloride solution and Sodium nitrate solution.

Add aqueous solution of silver nitrate `(AgNO_3)` to the solution of sodium chloride and solution of sodium nitrate prepared separately. The solution of sodium chloride would give a white precipitate of AgCl whereas there would be no precipitate only colourless solution is formed with sodium nitrate solution.
