State the factors affecting the resistance of a conductor.

Resistance of a wire depends on:
(i) Length of the wire: Resistance is directly proportional to the length of a wire.
(ii) Area of cross-section of the wire: Resistance is inversely proportional to the area of crosssection the wire.
(iii) The temperature of the wire: Normally, the resistance of a wire increase with the increase temperature of the wire. There is no simple mathematical function to describe these relationship.
