Two simple pendulums A and B have lengths 1.0 m and 4.0 m respectively at a certain place. Which pendulum will make more oscillations in 1 minute ? Explain your answer.

Text Solution

Time period is directly proportional to the square root of the length.
Hence the time period of A is less than that of B. Since time period is less, pendulum a will take less time to complete an oscillation.
So, pendulum A will make more oscillations in 1 minute.
