Of the total water found on over planet earth only 3% is freshwater. About 2.997% of it is locked up in ice caps or glaciers or is buried deep not easy to be extracted. It means only 0.003% of earth.s total volume of water is available to us. It occurs in the form of soil moisture, usable ground water, water vapour and as lakes, streams and underground water.
