Fig. shows the same block of wood floating in three different liquids A, B and C of densities by `e_1,e_2` and `e_3` respectively. Which of the liquid has the highest density? Give a reason for your answer.

In each case upthrust is same i.e. in each case the weight of displaced liquid is same.
From the figure, if `V_1, V_2` and `V_3` be the volume of the liquids in the 3 cases respectively, then
`V_1gtV_2 gt V_3`
So, to have the same weight, `e_1lt e_2 lt e_3`
So, the `3^(rd)` liquid has the maximum density.
