As the given matrices are equal so their corresponding elements are equal. `x+3=-x-1 implies 2x=-4`
`therefore x=-2`
`rArr 2y+x=0`
`rArr 2y-2=0`
`y=1`
`z-1=3`
`rArr z=4`
` 4w-8=2w`
`rArr 2w=8`
`w=4`
Hence, `|x+y|+|z+w|=|-2+1|+|4+4|=1+8=9`
