Shows a netword of seven capacitors. If the charge on the `5 muF` caacitor is `10muC`, dind the potential difference between the points `A` and `C`,
.

A

`16 V`

B

`32 V`

C

`64V`

D

none of these

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

Potential difference across `5F` capacitor is `120/5=24 V`. Hence, potential defference across all three capacitors connected in parallel is `V_(1)=24 V`.
.
`V_(1)=V(C_(2)/(C_(1)+C_(2)))`
or `V=V_(1)((C_(1)+C_(2))/C_(C_(2)))`
`=24[(12+4)/4]=96 V`
`:. V_(0)=V=96 V`

`V_(AD)=V(6/(30+6))=96[6/(30+6)]=16 V`.
