`NO` is an odd electron molecule, whose electronic configuration is as shown in solution of `Q. 6` above.
For `NO` to be coloured molecule, `pi^** 2p rarr sigma^** 2p` transition is required, which is forbidden and hence `NO` is colourless molecule.
