Can you tell
When a pedal of a bicycle is rotated, the wheel starts rotating. How does this happen ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In both the examples given above, there is wheel fitted to the axle. The axle of the giant wheel rotates due to electricity. Due to this rotating axis, the wheel starts taking turns. Similarly, the axle of the bicycle moves due to muscular energy, when the pedal is moved. Due to movement of the axle, the wheels of the bicycle also start moving.

Some how, an ant is stuck to the rim of a bicycle wheel of diameter 1 m. While the bicycle is on a central stand, the wheel is set into rotation and it attains the frequency of 2 rev/s in 10 seconds, with uniform angular acceleration. Calculate Number of revolutions completed by the ant in these 10 seconds.

Have you seen that objects beyond and above a holi fire appear to be shaking? why does this happen ? Give scientific reasons

Somehow, an ant is stuck to the rim of a bicycle wheel of diameter 1m . While the bicycle is on a central stand. The wheel is set into rotation and attains the frequency of 2 frac(rev)(s) in 10 seconds, with uniform angular acceleration. Calculate number of revolutions completed by the ant in these 10 seconds.

You must have seen or read the news of dead fishes or oily water accumulating at the sea coasts. Why does this happen ?

Two wheels of moment of inertia 4 kgm^2 rotate side by side at the rate of 120 rev/min and 240 rev/min respectively in the opposite directions. If now both the wheels are coupled by means of weightless shaft so that the both wheels now rotates with a common angular speed. Find the new speed of rotation.

Two wheels of moment of inertia 4 kgm^2 rotate side by side of the rate of 120 r.p.m. and 240 r.p.m. respectively in the opposite direction. If now both the wheels are coupled by means of weightless shaft so that both the wheels now rotate with a common angular speed, find the new speed of rotation.
