During accommodation for near vision

A

Images from the distant objects are focused behing the retina.

B

The focusing power of the lens is increased.

C

The sympathetic nerves to the eye are activated.

D

The pupil does not constrict.

The correct Answer is:
B

As the light rays emitted by near objects are diverging in nature, so to accommodate, these rays will have to be bent or refracted. Our eye lens is already of refracting type and its focusing power will be increased by the contraction of cliary muscles which relaxes the tension in the suspensory ligaments and lens bulges out, thereby, its refracting power increases.
