What do you mean by thermal motion of free electrons in conductors ?

In conductors some of the electrons are practically free to move within the conductor . Kinetic energy of these electrons on the temperature T of conductor i.e., `E = (3)/(2) kT` , where k= Boltzmann constant . So , the motion in these electrons is known as thermal motion.
