The ideal ammeer has zero resistance
An ideal voltmeter has infinite resistance
`:.` No current flows through the voltmeter. The given circuit can be drawn as shown in figure (a) .
The effective external resistance of the circuit is
`4 + (15 xx30)/( 15+30)= 1 4 Omega`
`implies i = ( 30)/( 14+1) = 2 A `
Hence, reading of ammeter is 2A.

The circuit can be drawn as shown in figure (b). The reading of voltmeter is the potential difference between A and B.

Using KVL in ACDB, `V_(A) = 10 i = V_(B)`
`implies V_(A) - V_(B) = 10 i = 20 V `
`:. `Readin of voltmeter `= 20 V `
