Stomata are structures present in the epidermis of leaves . Each stoma is composed of two bean shaped cells are known as guard cells . The outer walls of guard cells are thin and the Inner walls are thick .The guard cells possess chloroplasts and regulates the opening and closing of stomata . Somtimes a few epidermal cells , become specialized in their shape and size are called subsidinary cells .
