Why is it easier to swim in sea water than in fresh water?

Text Solution

The density of sea water (salt dissolved in water)is greater than that of the river water. Therefor, upthrust on the swimmer is greater in sea water than in river water. Hence, it is easier to swim in sea water than in river water.
