A sphere of mass m and radius `r` is released from a wedge of mass `2m` as show. `ABC` is hemispherical position of radius `R`. Find the impules imparted to the system consicting wedge and sphere by the vertical wall `w_(1) w_(2)` till the time sphere reaches at the bottom most position of spherical portion for the first time. Friction between wedge asnd horizontal surface is absent is sufficient to avoid slipping between them.

A

`msqrt((2g(R-r))/7)`

B

`msqrt((10g(R-r))/7)`

C

`2msqrt((5g(R-r))/7)`

D

`3msqrt((2g(R-r))/7)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

`mg(R-r)=7/10mV^(2)=(7P^(2))/(10m)`
`P=msqrt((10g(R-r))/7)=` Impulse on the system by wall
