A body is thrown up with a velocity `1000 m s^(-1)`. It travels `5 m` in the last second of its journey. If the same body is thrown up with a velocity `200 m s^(-1)`. How much distance (in metre) will it travel in the last second (g= 10 m s^(-2))?.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

` s= u+(a)/(2) (2n-1) " " u= 100 ms^(-1) ,a=-10ms^(-2) and s=5 m`
` 5=100 -5( 2n-1) ` given ` n=10 s `
Body when thrown up with velocity will take 20 s to reach the highest . Distance traveled in 20th second is ` 200 -5( 20 xx 2-1) =5m ` In the last second of upward journey, the bodies will travel same distance.
