Three vertices of a parallelogram ABCD a...

Three vertices of a parallelogram ABCD are A = (-2, 2), B = (6, 2) and C = (4.-3). Plot these points on a graph paper and hence use it to find the co ordinates of the fourth vertex D. Also, find the co-ordinates of the mid point of the side CD.

Plot the points `A(-2,2), B(6,2)` and `C(4,-3)` as usual. Complete the parallelogram ABCD. From the graph, the co-ordinates of the point D are `(-4,-3)`. The co-ordinates of the mid-points M of CD are `(0,-3)`.
From the figure, CD=8 units and the height of the parallelogram ABCD corresponding to the side CD=5 units.
`therefore` The area of parallelogram ABCD = (`8xx5`) sq.units =40sq.units
