Length of the floor of the tank(l) = 150 m
Breadth of the floor of the tank (b) = 100 m
Depth of the water (h) = 3 m
`therefore` Volume of the water = lbh
`=150xx100xx3`
= 45000 cubic m.
Area of the cross-section of the pipe `=(2)/(10)xx(15)/(10)xx(1)/(10) sq. m " "(because 1 dcm =(1)/(10)m)`
`=(3)/(100)` sq m
Speed of water = 15 km/hr `= 15xx1000 m//hr`
Volume of water through the pipe in 1 hour `=(3)/(100)xx15xx1000=450`cubic m
`therefore` Time to flow 450 cubic m of water = 1 hour
Time to flow45000 cubic m of water `=(1)/(450)xx45000 = 100` hours
